The Lake Oroville Area Public Utility District (LOAPUD) is searching for a qualified applicant to fill the position of UTILITY WORKER I or II
Located in Oroville, CA approximately 75 miles north of Sacramento, LOAPUD provides sanitary sewer (waste water) collection services to approximately 4500 customers over 3500 acres, mostly in the unincorporated areas east and south of the City of Oroville. Customers include single and multiple family residences, a variety of commercial uses, and public facilities including schools and recreational areas associated with nearby Lake Oroville.
The Utility Worker I or II, under the supervision of Field Operations Supervisor, Foreman or Operator: works with Operator in the installation and repair of sanitary sewer main lines and related equipment; stocks trucks; drives service and dump trucks; operates compaction equipment, jackhammer and compressor, and other hand equipment as necessary and/or as directed; installs sewer pipe; assists in digging backfilling and repairing roads and pavement; repairs damaged pipe; repairs damaged pipe; installs service line taps, house sewer cleanout/locks, and other related equipment; assists in construction, maintenance and repair of District property; and, assists in general yard and shop work.
Starting hourly wage is based on a board approved compensation schedule. Placement on the wage schedule depends on experience and qualifications. Relocation to the immediate area will be required due to on-call requirements. Please see current wage scale at the following link:
